Crispy Skin Salmon with Radicchio and Blood Orange Salad on Dill Ricotta
February 2, 2023
While thinking about what to make this Valentine's Day, two things came to mind: I wanted to create a dish that was special enough to impress but simple enough where I didn't have to spend all day in the kitchen. I knew I wanted to pair my meal with the Bayernmoor Precoce Pinot Noir clone (my personal favorite) because of how truly sexy it is - with its floral aroma, juicy red fruit notes, and velvety finish. The following recipe is this wine's flirty companion. Allow the two, both food and wine, to walz hand in hand across your palate and please the gazing senses. Take it from Viginia Woolf, "One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well." Dine Well Bayernmoor Friends!

Braised Pork Belly with Fennel Gravy
December 2, 2022
Seasons Greetings Bayernmoor Friends! I’ve been struggling to answer the all too common post Thanksgiving questions: what will I be giving and what will I be cooking for this upcoming December holiday. As I’m not keen on shopping malls, and I insist on eating anyone else's food but my own whenever I get the chance, I begin my deep dive into finding solutions. My research journey starts (and promptly ends) by watching Jim Carry’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. My first question is answered when the young Grinch gives a homemade tree topper angel to his crush, Martha May, and she loves it. It sparks an idea, something homemade, a gift that keeps giving: a favorite recipe. My next solution is presented when the Grinch is stealing Christmas, which of course, includes the Christmas feast of roast beast. Now, “beast” can be interpreted in many different ways, the movie depicts what looks like a goose and Google insists on correcting my recipe search to roast beef, but who doesn’t love a baked ham during this special season. Which has led me to where I am now, writing this, ready to gift the recipe for the fan favorite dish from my fall/winter menu and what I will personally be bringing to the feast this year. Please enjoy… Particularly with our Bayernmoor 2017 Estate Pinot Noir.

The shorter and colder days of autumn have officially arrived, which means my cravings for pasta and warm veggies are here too. Cozy up with a bowl of one of my favorite, incredibly easy, weekday dishes and a glass of any one of your favorite Bayernmoor Pinot Noirs.

Husk Wrapped Halibut in Cilantro Lime Butter with Grilled Corn Salsa

Do you ever think about the way weather so very much dictates our day to day decisions? What to wear, what to do, where to go, how to get there, what to drink, what to eat? Whenever I think about what to cook, I first have to think about how the sky is feeling. Looking out my window this morning I couldn't help but say to myself, “so this is the Seattle summer weather y’all convinced me to leave the grueling California heat for!” When it comes to the last stretch of this gorgeous season, I think about preparing anything that lets me soak up the perfect sunshine. Best forged over a campfire or grill, this dish insists on bringing all the best parts of our remaining summer and the warm prequels of fall to the table. And while I do particularly enjoy drinking our 2019 Bayernmoor Chardonnay with this recipe, one simple change can make it equally as delicious paired with our Rosé. So grab your favorite bottle, heat your grates, and toast to great weather.
Mussels in Herbs and Bayernmoor Chardonnay
June 30, 2022
Seasons Greetings Bayernmoor friends! This warm weather is just what we needed after what seemed like a rather lengthy and gloomy spring. While I am a fan of the fabulous sunshine, sometimes, the last thing I want is to cook a hearty dinner that’ll heat up the house. As a California expat, I’ve acquired plenty of go-to recipes for when the hot days reach their peak. This recipe is always the perfect excuse to pop open a bottle of wine, and is quick enough to get you back outside in time for the sunset. Happy Cooking, Happy Sipping, Happy Summer!
Red Beet and Pomegranate Bruschetta
February 2, 2023
We’ve made it through January with the sweet sunshine of February to welcome us in! As we inch closer to Valentine’s day, show yourself and those closest to you some extra love by preparing one of my favorite “inbetweener” snacks. The comfort of warm flavors in the red beet puts a twist on this classic dish, usually prepared on hotter days. For the moments when it's summer sunny or winter crisp, pair with Bayernmoor Chardonnay and Precoce Pinot Noir.
