This wine began its journey with grapes harvested by hand from two of Washington's premium Chardonnay vineyards and finished by aging in a blend of new and neutral French Oak barrels. Aromas of pear, vanilla, and Golden Delicious apple are mirrored on the palate along with flavors of lemon curd and hazelnut. This is a wine crafted to be equally enjoyed on a hot, summer day as well as paired with your favorite cold weather recipes.
Our 2017 Chardonnay is a blend of fruit from historic Otis Vineyard and the old vines of Weinbau Vineyard. The cooler climate of Otis adds a strong acidic backbone and classic Chardonnay notes. The warm climate of the Wahluke Slope gives the Weinbau fruit more body and power. Blending creates a perfectly balanced and flavorful Chardonnay.
Aged 10 months in 100% French Oak barrels, 25% new.
Food Pairing Notes
The body, acidity, and touch of oak make this a versatile wine. It can stand up to heavy recipes such as fettucine alfredo, roasted chicken, and glazed ham. Our Chardonnay gracefully compliments lighter dishes such as salmon and grilled shrimp. We also enjoy pairing it with cheeses such as white cheddar, smoked gouda, and brie.
